Week in Review & Pretty Pintastic Party #146
TGIF – hope everyone had an amazing week and is ready for the weekend! We’re back with another weekly Pretty Pintastic Party, but first let’s sneak a peek of the week – in the rearview mirror of This Scattered Life.
Last weekend I enjoyed a fantastic Saturday afternoon meetup at the Uncorked Kitchen with the Denver Bloggers Club. Two hours go by in a flash when you are cooking, eating and learning alongside 20 area bloggers. And so many cameras! (Check out the recap and review here).
I rushed back from the meetup and headed into the mountains in time to get hubby and head to the Mardi Gras celebration benefiting the Mill Creek Valley Historical Society. I wasn’t really hungry after all the food from Uncorked Kitchen, but the food was catered by Da Rivuh, which has the best red beans & rice I’ve ever had. A few bites from Jeff’s plate and “not hungry” went out the window. I sampled EVERYthing and it was all delicious!
We spent some time checking out the baby goat at my new friend Sue’s place. Llamas, alpacas, goats, horses and a magnificent view – this is where I’m going to be honing my spinning skills and learning to dye and weave. Serendipitous meeting of my mentor.
It’s been a busy week. We joined the Mardi Gras Crawfish Boil festivities at Da Rivuh on Fat Tuesday. The band, Zydecoasters, played some great music and there were some seriously potent hurricane drinks. One and done. Goodnight Irene.
It also happens to be restaurant week in Denver, which actually spans 10 days – but Denver Restaurant Ten Days just doesn’t have the same ring. Lucky for our daughter, her birthday is smack dab in the middle of restaurant week, so Sarah always gets to pick a fabulous restaurant for her birthday celebration. This year we dined at Coperta, where we enjoyed excellent service and three courses followed by an Extra Virgin Olive Oil Gelato. Pretty sure I was still feeling fat and happy the next morning.
On that note of contentment, and without further ado …..
