Quick & Easy Yum Yum Sauce

Yum Yum Sauce

Have you ever found a sauce that you like so much that you just want to drench everything you eat in it? Yum Yum Sauce is that dipping sauce for our family. Throughout the years, I’ve been served this yummy sauce in many restaurants. And every place makes it just a bit different – according to their own tastes. Our hands-down favorite Yum Yum Sauce? Genji Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar in Midland, Michigan.

Genji is about a million miles away from where we live now (slight exaggeration), so stopping in for a sauce fix is a thing of the past. Luckily for us, this Yum Yum Sauce comes pretty close to the real deal. And it’s whipped up in just a couple of minutes with ingredients that are usually on hand in the fridge.

The sauce is undoubtedly better if you’ve had some forethought and given the flavors time to do the tango behind closed doors. An hour is good, a few is better and overnight is ideal. But – if you’re anything like me, you’re flying by the seat of your pants and leading a Scattered Life on most days. There are days with a well thought out menu for the week. And others? Well – the belly growl reminds me that time has once again gotten away from me and there is no dinner plan.

When dinner is ruled by hunger pains, there is definitely no time for marrying flavors. Throw the ingredients in a bowl, whisk ’em up, adjust for taste and start dipping! Guaranteed it will be better than anything store-bought. (Not like a money-back guarantee or anything – you got that, right?)

If you love the Yum Yum Sauce at your favorite hibachi grill, but you’ve never tried making your own, give this recipe a whirl. It’s quick, easy and oh so versatile. It’s the perfect accompaniment to grilled veggies or seafood, burgers, fondued beef tips, fried fish, french fries … The list is endless and you won’t know until you try it. But unless you’re a weirdo, I’d probably steer away from pairing it with chocolate.
